La situazione ad ottobre
Le piccole piogge non sono iniziate, il nostro pan 1 ha pochissima acqua rimasta. I nostri serbatoi d’acqua nel complesso sono per lo più asciutti, anche i serbatoi della casa ospiti sulla collina sono asciutti e non sono stati riempiti per un bel po’ di tempo.
The situation in October
The short rains have not started , our pan 1 has very little water left. Our water tanks in the compound are mostly dry, the guest house tanks on the hill are also dry and it has not been refilled for quite a long time.
La situazione a novembre
Abbiamo ricevuto piogge, ma pochissime e speriamo che ne arrivino altre.
le cisterne pan 1 e 2 hanno raccolto pochissima acqua, c’è meno forza nella pioggia ed anche i cespugli cresciuti troppo intorno ai canali facevano penetrare l’acqua nel terreno anziché defluire nel canale. stiamo sgombrando i cespugli per aumentare i deflussi.
la cisterna pan 3 ha ricevuto acqua ed è quasi piena. il chllneg sarà come utilizzare l’acqua già raccolta. il mio suggerimento è di convogliare il serbatoio sopraelevato per la serra numero 4. richiederà circa 8 tubi da 2 ”, valvola a saracinesca, giunto a T e manodopera specializzata per la connettività.
Le precipitazioni sono molto irregolari e temiamo un’incombente siccità.
Le serre non sono piene di verdure, i pomodori sono vecchi. solo una serra ha gli spinaci, 1 serra è vuota e abbiamo intenzione di piantare dei pomodori, il timore è che la quantità di pioggia che potrà ricevere affinché la coltivazione si sostenga fino alla prossima stagione delle piogge.
The situation in November
We received rainfall but very little and we hope more will come.
pan 1 and 2 collected very little water, there less rainfal in intensity. the overgrown bushes around the channels also made water to penetrate into the soil rather than runoff into the channel. we are clearing the bushes to increase runoffs.
pan 3 has received water and is almost full. the chllneg will be how to utilize the water already harvested. my suggestion is to pipe to the elevated tank for greenhouse number 4. it will require about8 pipes 2” size, gate valve , T-joint and skilled labour for connectivity.
The rainfall is very erratic and we fear a looming drought.
The greenhouse is not full of vegetables , the totamatoe are old. only one has spinach, 1 green house is empty and we intend to have tomatoes in it, the fear is the amount of rain will can receive for the apns to sustain it up to the next rainy season.
