Siamo lieti d’informarvi che il signor Dido Wario, che attualmente sta conseguendo il diploma in gestione aziendale presso l'università di Mount Kenya, ha chiesto di visitare la casa dei bambini obbitu con i suoi amici.
Dido Wario è cresciuto nell’Obbitu Village; matricola 0005, faceva parte del primo gruppo di bambini accolti a risiedervi.
I suoi amici provengono principalmente da Sololo e sono membri del Rotary Club o meglio, come ha precisato lui, sono il RotarAct Club di Sololo. Il Rotaract è la sezione del Rotary Club che riunisce i giovani; in questo caso quello di Sololo è un ramo del Rotary club di Marsabit.
Quando nasceva il Progetto Sololo (circa 20 anni fà) tra i primi sostenitori c’era il Rotary Club di Merate che animò diverse iniziative con i Club della Brianza. Allora si provò anche ad effettuare un gemellaggio con i Rotary Club di Nairobi. Ma a quei tempi la loro attività non si estendeva oltre il Meru e il nord Kenya è sempre stata considerata un’area non facile, tanto che da Nairobi risposero alla proposta chiedendo se si era pazzi a desiderare di lavorare in quei posti.
Il Rotary di Merate ha continuato a dare la sua attenzione al Progetto Sololo camminandogli vicino e condividendo le scelte. Son certo che presterà attenzione anche ai ragazzi del Rotaract di Sololo.
I membri del Rotaract di Sololo hanno scelto l’Obbitu Village grazie a Dido Wario e stanno attualmente raccogliendo fondi, tramite il servizio Mpesa, per offrire, durante la loro visita, donazioni quali: prodotti alimentari; vestiario; materiale di cartoleria; palloni; … Le attività che stanno preparando per l’occasione includono: giochi divertenti; ballare e cantare; ma anche attività educative quali: storie e racconti dalla tradizione; la messa a dimora di alberi nel villaggio; pittura; modellazione con plastilina; cucinare e mangiare in condivisione.
Si prospetta una giornata ricca di attività ben organizzate.
La visita è prevista per il 6 gennaio 2024.
L’arrivo di Dido Wario che guiderà la sua squadra di amici, è una grande emozione per tutti noi; è un momento di riconoscimento del lavoro che svolge Cipad ed è un forte segno di apprezzamento.

We are pleased to inform you that Mr. Dido Wario, who is currently pursuing a diploma in business management at Mount Kenya University, has requested to visit the Obbitu Children’s Home with his friends.
Dido Wario grew up in Obbitu Village; serial number 0005, he was part of the first group of children welcomed to reside there. His friends mainly come from Sololo and are members of the Rotary Club or rather, as he specified, they are the RotarAct Club of Sololo. Rotaract is the section of the Rotary Club that brings together young people; in this case the one in Sololo is a branch of the Rotary club of Marsabit.

The activities they are preparing for the occasion include: fun games; dancing and singing; but also educational activities such as: traditional stories and tales; the planting of trees in the village; painting modeling with plasticine; cooking and eating together.
It promises to be a day full of well-organised activities.
The visit is scheduled for January 6, 2024.
The arrival of Dido Wario who will lead his team of friends is a great emotion for all of us; it is a moment of recognition of the work that Cipad does and is a strong sign of appreciation.
